1000+ sacks later...

prideinashbourne

Friday's session had 8 attendees, including two new members; R&G welcome to the group! Split into three groups they covered the Park, the quarry area of Old Derby Hill and the town centre.

Janet says: "There is always litter to collect but since our conception two years ago we've broken the back of much of the historic litter and fly-tipping in and around the town that had collected in shrubbery, ginnells, the park and roadsides. Despite the restrictions of Covid, I reckon that in the past year, members of the group have collected about 1,000 sacks of litter. Well done, everyone. Most of the group will now be using the bright pink litter sacks which, when left out for DDDC to collect, are highlighting the amount of work that has been done"
