Memorial Gardens weeding:

Saturday 29th May 9.30 - lunchtime

Thursday 3rd June 13.30 - teatime

The Town team are hoping to tackle some of the overgrown shrubbery beds in the Memorial Gardens. These are on the left when entering the gardens over the flood defences from the Shaw Croft. The ends of these beds are overgrown with brambles and probably full of litter. This work has been agreed with the DDDC and they will remove all the debris.

Its quite a big area and the team are asking for a 'small army' of enthusiastic (or even reluctant) volunteers to make a meaningful impact.

The forecast is dry with possibly even some sunshine; if the forecast changes plans may need to change, email and Facebook notice will be sent if that's the case.

Please wear appropriate protective gear for brambles and nettles. Bring tools if you can, the following are suggested in particular:

Secateurs / weeding tools / bucket or trug / small border fork / litter picking gear.

Come for some of the time even if you can't do the whole. Any contribution will be welcome.
