Todays litter pick, attended by 8 of us, had mixed results. Those collecting from The Park and playing fields by school property had challenging full heavy sacks, whist those of us collecting from around the town centre were picking lots of small bitty litter and cigarette butts. Oh... how can we educate people that discarded cigarette butts are litter!? I am contacting the council re the passage between The Vaults and Coral the bookmakers. Coral have said they will sweep their frontage. We also approached the owner of the barbers next to The Gingerbread Shop who, when alerted to the problem outside his shop, speedily produced a broom, swept the pavement and gutter - and - picked up the debris!! There is YET AGAIN, fly tipping in the ginnel between KH Hair and Banjo, also the ginnel between what was Peaches Butchers and The Lighthouse. There is a lot of broken glass there too.
