There were well over a dozen intrepid volunteers who turned out armed with shovels, brooms, secateurs, lopers, hedge trimmers, trugs, sacks and all manner of other tools to attack the almost invisible path on Derby Hill. We made a great start, the pavement outside The Firs which had been almost completely blocked is now wide enough for 2 people and from The Firs up to the next road sign the path is clear enough for a single buggy.
Four big dumpy bags went to the tip, and countless bucketful of soil/compost/ leaf mould went back over the hedge. Fifty or so green sacks of soil were left for DDDC to collect.
The next session will depend on the weather, if anyone is inspired to come and help, even for an hour or so, message us Action@proudofAshbourne.org
This is the before...
The during...
...And the after
Good job, well done, thanks to everyone involved!
